As interaction designer I develop serious game concepts and user interfaces. I enjoy developing games on behalf of clients who wish to communicate complicated subject matters to a hard-to-reach target group. The game concepts typically feature strongly competitive gaming elements, simplicity and fun. They often consist of innovative pilots with the intent of encouraging knowledge augmentation and increased cooperation (co-creation) in societies, neighborhoods, districts or cities.

In addition, I am employed as the project leader E-culture for The Netherlands Institute for Heritage. In order to make their collections accessible to a much wider audience, I promote the use of innovative (online) technologies to national heritage organizations, and act as their consultant in that field. Among other things, I carry the final responsibility for the 2009 and 2011 editions of the international conference Digital Strategies for Heritage (DISH).
I am also a member of various cultural advisory boards.
